To continue Northside's rich history of collaboration and citizen participation, local business and civic leaders have created the Northside Community Fund of The Greater Cincinnati Foundation. This fund will support our neighborhood and the activities that matter to us.

The Northside Community Fund is a permanently endowed, restricted fund. The funds will be on deposit at the North Side Bank & Trust Co. and managed professionally by The Greater Cincinnati Foundation. All donations will be protected and preserved for the interest and only a portion of the capital will be distributed, allowing the balance to grow. Donations to the fund are tax deductible.

Any Northside non-profit organization may apply for a grant, however, no grants will be made to individuals. An advisory committee will manage the fund. The grant application process will be published in "The Northsider."

A simple process will be set up, and local Northside non-profit groups will be encouraged to apply. The Northside Community Fund will sponsor projects in any of the following categories:

• Community Events
• Youth Sports and Activities
• Social Justice
• Beautification Improvements
• Safety
• Physical Improvements
• Community Needs
• Leadership Development

• Make tax deductible contributions.
• Avoid capital gains through a gift of stock.
• Keep your dollars working locally and on behalf of your neighborhood.
• Give a lump sum at once instead of giving numerous times throughout the year.
• Build on the investment you've already made in Northside.
• Plan for future giving.
• Improve neighborhood safety.

• Created shared parking and initiated two facade improvement projects (one to start soon).
• Engaged young people in productive activities such as Leadership Council and summer Young Entrepreneur Program.
• Built the 1000 Hands Playground Project.
• Sponsored Citizens on Patrol.
• Received a grant for nearly $50,000 from the City's Safe and Clean Fund.
• Supported the expansion of Churches Active In Northside.
• Organized social and civic events such as 4th of July Parade & Festival, Health Fair, cleanups, & Peacemakers Banquet.
